What suits a bengal

Size and weight	4–7kg takes the L collar tag — 3cm, 9g. Bengals are long and lean, so a 12g tag swings more than it would on a heavier cat.
The coat	Short, dense, and it does shed. The pattern is what people remember, which is why the portrait beats the fur piece here — the fur carries no pattern.
The photo	Pick the frame where the face is calm, not mid-play. A bengal in motion gives you a beautiful body and no portrait.

Before you order: the photo

Face calm, eyes open. Bengals are photographed mid-action constantly. The portrait needs the still frame.
Even light, no dappled shade. Dappled sun on a spotted coat reads as noise — the design cannot tell leaf shadow from rosettes.
Front-on with the chest visible. The necklaces of spots across the chest are part of the likeness.
Say whether the coat is brown or silver. It changes how the contrast is worked, and grey-blue in a metal portrait looks nothing like silver in life.

If the only clear photo is a video still, that is fine — video stills are often sharper than people expect. Send it and we will say whether the resolution holds at 3cm.

Questions people ask

Will the rosettes show on the brass tag?

Yes, better than on most coats, because they are already high-contrast. They read as clusters of carved marks rather than individual spots.

He was silver — does that work in metal?

It works as contrast rather than colour. If the silver-grey is the memory, the painted leather portrait is closer.

Can I use a video still?

Usually yes. Send the sharpest frame; if it is soft we will tell you before you pay.
