The coat is thick and pale, the eyes are the whole point, and in bright or snowy light the whole dog washes out to a pale shape. What fixes it is shade and the eyes — get those two and the portrait knows exactly what it is.

Before you order: the photo

Eyes first. The eyes are the husky. Both open, both in focus, both visible — that is the one non-negotiable.
Shade, not snow. Bright or white backgrounds wash a husky out; a doorway or tree shade gives the face an edge.
Mask and markings. The face mask is what makes it a husky and not a malamute; a clear, well-lit face shot holds it.
Say the eye colour. Blue, brown, or both — metal carries line not colour, so we note it, but the shape of the eye is what carries.

If the only photo you have is an old one from years ago, that is still the right photo to start with. Send it before you order and we will tell you what it can and cannot hold — that conversation is free, and it is the point at which a portrait can still change.

The photo is mostly white fur on white snow.

That is the hard one. Send it and we will tell you what the face holds; a shaded photo almost always does better, so if you have one, send that too.

Which tag size?

The XL (3.5cm) — a husky's face is wide and the L looks cramped.

Do you need the whole dog?

No. Head and chest is the useful crop; the portrait carries the face, and a full-body shot makes the head too small to read.
